Along with eating right, you will want to get plenty of exercise and avoid tobacco smoke as much as you possibly can.
One of the negative cholesterol numbers is 240 mg/dL and above. If you have a level this high, then you are certainly at risk for future heart disease. You will have to do something about this immediately, whether that means planning some major changes to your lifestyle or taking some medication. You will work with your physician closely to lower this so you can bring yourself down to one of the more desirable cholesterol numbers.
